Since I was introduced to blogs last year, I got hooked. Each day I spend hours blogging, reading blogs and blogging about blogs. Overall, I’m very impressed with this revolutionary medium. However, the best reward of blogging by far has been connecting with old friends with whom I lost touch over the years.

Last week, I got an e-mail from a good friend of mine, Thomas, who I met a decade ago at the National Music Conservatory. Both of us used to play second violin with the symphonic orchestra of the conservatory. If I remember correctly, Thomas was the one who introduced me to Milan Kundera, as he was infatuated with The Unbearable Lightness of Being. I read the book upon his recommendation and became an ardent Kundera fan.

Just last week, while Thomas was browsing online he came across my blog and dropped me a note. It was a great a surprise since I haven’t heard from him in years. I was glad to know that he is doing really well, living in Canda, enjoying his job and still making music.

A similar occurrence happened yesterday when an old friend of mine, Rama, stumbled across my blog by chance and left a comment on one of the entries.

Rama and I worked together at Arabia online between 1999 and 2001. From her note I found out she is currently married and living with her husband in Saudi Arabia. Now I have her E-mail address so we’ll definitely keep in touch.

Aren’t blogs just great?!?!?
